At least five economic processes are occurring throughout the world. The first is the reduction in the volume of work available and even necessary to satisfy societies' basic needs. This means it is possible that the young people who are being educated today may experience an increasing delay in their entry into the labor market and go through periods of unemployment or under-employment. The second is a growth in jobs in the service sector compared with the farming and industrial sectors. The third is the growth in informal as opposed to formal employment. The fourth is an increasing change in the profile of occupations, particularly with regard to specific skills, and the fifth the change in the scales on which individuals' job opportunities are decided. The concepts of globalization and transnationalization of the labor market refer to the current manifestations of changes that began a long time ago, but have increased in pace in recent times. Globalization and transnationalization of labor mean, among other things, that both capital and companies and workers are able to move from one country to another in order to better "match" the requirements and availability of their mutual capabilities and opportunities. These economic processes present different challenges to education. The reduction in the volume of work available puts on the agenda issues of postponing entry into the labor market and the extension of compulsory education, now definitely covering educational provision for young people and adolescents Braslavsky, 2001 ; . On the other hand, the speed of change in occupational profiles increasingly renews the old teaching demand of teaching how to learn, making it into a socio-economic and personal imperative, at the same time as the failure to create jobs in the agricultural and industrial economies leads to a rethinking of education for work and to a demand for strong links with education for the service sector and white collar jobs even in connection with production of agricultural and industrial goods. Finally, the growth of the informal compared to the formal sector of the economy leads to the assumption that it is very important for all young people to learn entrepreneurial skills. Together these new economic trends and the results of international studies, showing which systems are guarantying a higher level of basic competence OECD, 2001 ; make it necessary to examine in depth the identity of the different educational levels and the issue of early specialization. Furthermore, the economic changes also make it necessary to rethink ways of responding to the demand that education, and particularly secondary education, should be articulated with the economy. Is it necessary, possible or even desirable for education to agree to educate for the labor market when this market appears to be unable to accommodate all the young people who graduate from the system? During the last decade, the position that formal education should not accept the challenge of training for the labor market as it is organized at a particular point, but rather training for work, has gradually gathered strength. It is likely that we should even propose that education all education should educate for multiple activities Gorz, 1998 ; : for productive work, for cultural creation, harmonious social life, family life, etc.; and unlike what happened throughout the twentieth century for alternation between periods where one or other type of activity predominates throughout the same individual's life. If this is so, it would also be necessary to simultaneously consider how to resolve the issue of training for specific jobs requiring specific skills, even though such jobs may disappear or change very quickly.

The anti-estrogen, clomifene is used in the treatment of female infertility due to disturbances in ovulation. It induces gonadotrophin release by occupying estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus, thereby interfering with feedback mechanisms. Patients should be carefully counselled and should be fully aware of the potential adverse effects, including a risk of multiple pregnancy rarely more than twins ; , of this treatment. Most patients who are going to respond will do so to the first course; 3 courses should be adequate; long-term cyclical therapy more than 6 cycles ; is not recommended as it may increase risk of ovarian cancer and mifeprex
| Methysergide hydrochlorideElectron microscopy Isolated eyestalks that had been incubated for 90min with or without 1 mmol I" 1 serotonin ; under normal laboratory illumination were fixed for 2 h with 4 % glutaraldehyde made up in 0.1 moll" 1 sodium cacodylate-buffered van Harreveld's solution. The retinas were then severed from the eyestalks, divided into thin slices and postfixed for 1 h with cold 1 % OsO 4 in cacodylate buffer. Ethanol and propylene oxide dehydration, Araldite embedding, thin sectioning, and double staining with uranyl and lead were carried out according to the usual methods of electron microscopy. The specimens were observed and micrographed with a Zeiss EM-9S2 electron microscope. Chemicals 5-Hydroxytryptamine creatinine sulphate serotonin ; and methysergide bimaleate were obtained from Sigma Chemical Co. St Louis, MO, USA ; . Cyproheptadine hydrochloride was supplied by Merck-Mexico, SA Mexico ; . Quipazine maleate, 5-methoxytryptamine and S-methylcarboxylate hydrochloride TR 3369 ; were generously provided by the Section of Experimental Therapeutics, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, CINVESTAV M6xico ; . Imtflunocytochemistry For the immunocytochemical identification of 5-HT the eyestalks were dissected out at midnight from animals that had been dark-adapted for at least 2h, and processed using the indirect immunofluorescence method FITC ; or the peroxidase-antiperoxidase PAP ; method Sternberger, 1974 ; . For the FITC method the tissue was fixed for 3h at 4C paraformaldehyde in 0.1 mol I" 1 phosphate buffer and rinsed for 30 min in 30 % sucrose dissolved in the same buffer. The tissue was frozen and sectioned 16-18 an ; in a cryostat. The sections were incubated with 5-HT antiserum Immunonuclear, Stillwater ; dissolved 1: 400 or 1: 200 in phosphate buffer with 0.30% Triton X-100, for 18h at room temperature. Fluorescein isothiocyanate FITC ; -labelled goat anti-rabbit IgG generously provided by Dr J. Calderbn, CINVESTAV, M6xico ; diluted to 1: 20 the same buffer was used as secondary antiserum. A Zeiss fluorescence microscope with epi-illumination and with filters for FITC was used for the examination of specimens. For the PAP method the eyestalks were fixed overnight in 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 moll" 1 phosphate buffer. After rinsing in buffer, the whole eyestalks were incubated in primary antiserum 18 h ; and then treated according to the PAP method. The whole eyestalks were washed in 0.1 mol P 1 sodium phosphate and then postfixed in 25 % glutaraldehyde for 1 h at room temperature. For electron microscope analysis the whole tissue was rinsed again and fixed in 1 % OsO 4 in the same buffer for l h at room temperature. Dehydration was in ethanol, and propylene oxide and embedding was in Araldite. The thin sections were examined in a JEOL2000 electron microscope. T h specificity of the immunoreaction was tested using sections and whole eyestalkS.

Bone loss is associated with HIV infection itself, not antiretroviral therapy, according to a study in the September 5, 2003 issue of AIDS. Dario Bruera, MD, from the National University of Crdoba, Argentina, and colleagues analyzed data from 111 HIV positive and 31 HIV negative subjects; among those with HIV, 33 had never used antiretroviral therapy, 36 had more than one year of treatment without a PI, and 42 had more than one year of treatment including a PI. Bone mineral density lumbar spine, femur, and total body ; was significantly lower in the HIV positive subjects compared with the HIV negative subjects, and the incidence of osteopenia and osteoporosis below average and severely low bone density ; was higher in the former group. Those who had been infected with HIV the longest were at greatest risk for bone loss. However, among the HIV positive participants, no differences were seen based on presence or type of antiretroviral therapy. The results suggest that HIV itself has an adverse effect on bone density, the researchers concluded.
